Famous rescuer and record-holder injured during Russian attack on Kyiv
During the Russian attack on Kyiv, rescuer Volodymyr Skovorodka was injured while helping people after shelling. He came under repeated attack by Russian troops.
This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Vyhivskyi.
“Among the wounded in the capital is rescuer Volodymyr Skovorodka. He is known as an athlete who set a Ukrainian record. Several years ago, in memory of his fallen colleagues, Volodymyr ran more than 60 kilometers in full combat gear. Today, he was helping the injured and came under repeated fire himself,” Vyhivskyi noted.
According to him, emergency rescue operations and firefighting are ongoing in Kyiv and the Kyiv region after Russian strikes.
Vyhovsky reported that Russia attacked 10 regions and Kyiv with missiles and drones overnight. Residential buildings, a shopping and entertainment center, administrative buildings, energy facilities, and utility buildings were hit.
A child died in an attack in Vyshgorod, Kyiv region. In the morning, Russian troops also attacked a supermarket in a suburb of the capital – the fire has already been extinguished.
In Kyiv, one person was killed and one injured as a result of morning shelling, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
