As part of the World Economic Forum in Davos, fewer than 20 countries joined the “Peace Council” created by US President Donald Trump.

This became known from the White House broadcast .

During the ceremonial signing of the documents, Trump was announced as the head of the newly created council.

Despite expectations that more people would join the organization, only 19 countries became members of the “Peace Council.”

These are Qatar, Bulgaria, Mongolia, Argentina, Turkey, Armenia, Pakistan, UAE, Hungary, Jordan, Azerbaijan, Paraguay, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Kosovo, Uzbekistan, Bahrain.

“You are the leaders of nations. In most cases, very popular leaders, some are less popular,” Trump remarked, addressing politicians.

He declared that the world was richer and safer than it was a year ago. He called the event “one of the most important gatherings.”

At the same time, a number of European leaders have refused to participate in the organization, including France, the United Kingdom, Slovenia, and Norway.

In particular, as noted in the Bloomberg article, French leader Emmanuel Macron rejected Trump’s proposal, as he believes that the status of the “Peace Council” goes beyond issues related to Gaza, and the organization could harm the institutional structure of the UN.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump has invited leaders of 49 countries to join the “Peace Council” for Gaza he created . Ukraine is among the invitees.

Trump previously confirmed that he had invited Putin to join the council that will oversee the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
