FIA lifts sanctions against Russians and Belarusians in motorsport

The FIA World Motor Sport Council has lifted sanctions against Russian and Belarusian drivers and officials. They will now be able to participate in international competitions under national symbols and with the use of anthems.

This is stated in the FIA statement.

The organization also removed the neutrality requirement. Representatives from Russia and Belarus no longer need to sign a neutrality pledge to participate in the competition.

At the same time, the FIA remained in force the ban on holding international competitions in Russia and Belarus.

The organization stated that it would continue to monitor developments in Ukraine. The FIA also reserved the right to take additional measures in the future, including to comply with sanctions regimes and its contractual obligations.
