Fighter jets back in the sky: NATO intercepts Russian reconnaissance plane over the Baltic Sea

On Sunday, September 21, NATO scrambled two German fighter jets to intercept a Russian reconnaissance plane over the Baltic Sea.
This was reported by “European Truth” with reference to DPA.
As reported by the German Air Force, an aircraft was spotted in international airspace over the Baltic Sea that failed to establish contact.
In this regard, German Eurofighter fighter jets took off from Rostock-Laage air base.
It turned out that a Russian Il-20M reconnaissance aircraft was in the airspace over the Baltic Sea.
It is worth noting that recently, the situation in the region has escalated due to Russian aircraft violating the airspace of various countries.
As a reminder, Estonia stated that three Russian MiG-31 fighter jets violated its airspace and were there for 12 minutes.
The Estonian Defense Ministry later reported that the incursion of Russian MiG-31 fighters into the country’s airspace was deliberate .
