Fighting continues in Sumy region: Ukrainian forces hold back Russian offensive

Russian troops continue to attempt to advance in the Sumy region, but Ukrainian units are holding their positions and repelling attacks.

This was reported by the Communications Center of the Kursk Group of Forces.

According to military sources, fighting is ongoing near the settlements of Yunakivka, Andriivka, Yablunivka, Varachyne and Kindrativka. The Russian side is trying to expand the zone of control under the pretext of creating a so-called “buffer zone”.

The group of troops noted that Ukrainian forces are repelling the enemy and preventing him from achieving his goals. The military emphasizes that the Russian side’s statements about successes do not correspond to the real situation on the front.

Separately, the message emphasized that the settlement of Khotyn is under full control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Ukrainian military calls on residents of the region to remain calm and trust only official sources of information.

It was previously reported that Russian troops continue to advance in eastern Ukraine, capturing several more settlements in the Donetsk region, as well as recording territorial advances in the Sumy region and in the Myrnograd area.

Recall that the Russian army loses an average of 1,000-1,100 servicemen every day in the war against Ukraine, and the number of deaths in the Russian Federation is approximately six times greater than in the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
