Finland calls on Trump to arm Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles
Петтері Орпо
Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo has expressed the opinion that US President Donald Trump should allow Ukraine to use American long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles in the fight against Russia.
He made this known in an interview with Politico published on October 23.
Orpo described Russia as a “permanent challenge to European security” and noted that the presence of precision missiles could force Russian President Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table.
He emphasized: “To stop this war, we must have a level of force no less than Russia’s, and perhaps even greater.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously noted that the discussion of the possible supply of Tomahawks caused a nervous reaction in Putin.
At the same time, Orpo emphasized that the key is not only the transfer of individual types of weapons, but also systematic, large-scale, and long-term financial support for Ukraine.
As a reminder, American leader Donald Trump, during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that his priority was to end the war and said not to count on Tomahawk missiles .
It was also previously reported that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is already negotiating with European partners who can help by providing long-range weapons .
