Finland will strengthen Ukraine’s cybersecurity within the framework of the Tallinn Mechanism

Finland has officially joined the Tallinn Mechanism, becoming the thirteenth participating state in the international initiative that supports Ukraine in strengthening cyber defense and digital resilience in the face of Russian aggression.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized that Finland’s accession is a “logical continuation of already established cooperation” and makes a significant contribution to strengthening joint cyber resilience. According to him, the systematic support of Finnish partners helps Ukraine strengthen its digital infrastructure and more effectively counter hostile cyber threats.
Finland has developed competencies in the field of cybersecurity, e-governance, and critical infrastructure protection. Its participation in the mechanism, as noted by the Ministry of Digital Affairs, will deepen international coordination of actions, promote the exchange of technological solutions and practices, and increase the level of resilience of Ukraine’s digital environment.
Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen emphasized that the country is joining a “community of like-minded people” that is helping Ukraine develop cyber defense systems while strengthening its own position in the field of international cyber diplomacy.
Finnish Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio added that the partnership opens up new opportunities for Finnish companies working in the cybersecurity sector. In particular, they will be able to participate in joint projects, exchange experience and technological solutions with Ukrainian specialists.
The Tallinn Mechanism was launched in 2023 to coordinate international assistance in the field of cybersecurity. It currently includes 13 countries: the United Kingdom, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Poland, the United States, France, Sweden and Finland. The initiative is coordinated by the TMPO project office in Kyiv, which ensures the implementation of programs to increase Ukraine’s cyber resilience.
It was also previously reported that Finland called on Trump to arm Ukraine with long-range missiles , including Tomahawk cruise missiles.
At the same time , Finland recently announced the provision of another, 30th package of defense assistance to Ukraine . The decision was made on Friday, October 17. It was approved by the country’s President Alexander Stubb at the proposal of the government.
