Finmonitoring is slowing down the investigation into the Midas corruption case, ignoring requests from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, according to a ZN.ua article.

The State Financial Monitoring Service does not provide information to anti-corruption authorities about methods of laundering more than 100 million hryvnias.

At the same time, the answer to NABU’s question would allow us to block corruption mechanisms in the future.

As noted, it remains unclear how Finmonitoring failed to notice the fact of large sums being withdrawn abroad.

NABU systematically addresses the service with requests. Thus, in 2025, the bureau sent 109 requests and received responses to 50. At the same time, within the framework of “Midas”, all requests were ignored.

In addition, shortcomings in communication with Finmonitoring are also felt by the Bureau of Economic Security. Because of this, the time and resources spent on a request exceed the quality of the response received.

“We even went to the bankers to ask if we really have such failures in collecting information, but no — everything is there, everything is transmitted, it just mysteriously disappears behind the doors of the State Financial Monitoring Service,” the material says.

It is noted that after Pronin headed the State Financial Management Service of Ukraine in 2025, 125 materials for 7.4 billion hryvnias were sent to the NABU. In 2024, the situation was similar – 156 materials for 7.6 billion hryvnias. However, then a significant part of the reporting fell on top officials, while last year – on the category of “other persons.”

Earlier, the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, Oleksandr Klymenko, stated that the State Financial Monitoring Service could more actively monitor funds abroad and the possibility of legalization within the framework of the investigation into the Midas case.

As a reminder, NABU Director Semen Kryvonos stated that the anti-corruption bureau has been encountering difficulties in obtaining data from the State Financial Monitoring Service for a long time .
