Fire at Russian port of Ust-Luga halts oil exports

Russian company Novatek suspended gas condensate processing and oil exports from the port of Ust-Luga after a UAV attack on March 25. A fire broke out at the facility, and the timing of the resumption of work remains unknown.

According to sources, the attack caused a fire at the stable gas condensate fractionation units, as well as in several tanks with petroleum products.

After the incident, the transshipment of oil and petroleum products at the port was stopped, and firefighting is ongoing.

The Governor of the Leningrad Region, Alexander Drozdenko, confirmed the fact of a fire in the port after the UAV attack, but did not provide details.

The complex in the port of Ust-Luga has a nominal capacity of 9 million tons per year and processes gas condensate into light and heavy oil, kerosene, diesel fraction, and a component of marine fuel.

According to the company, in 2025, the processing volume at this complex amounted to 8 million tons.

Sources also note that the timing of the resumption of the complex’s operations and product exports is currently unknown.

Previously, the Novatek complex in the port of Ust-Luga was already subject to UAV attacks in August 2025 and in January 2024.

By the way, the Russian port of Ust-Luga continues to burn after the SBU struck the oil terminal.

It was previously reported that on the night of March 25 , the Defense Forces conducted an operation during which they managed to hit the Russian NOVATEK-Ust-Luga plant in the Leningrad Region.

As a reminder, on the night of March 26, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the Leningrad Region of the Russian Federation, hitting the Kirishinsky Oil Refinery.
