Fires and destruction: Russian drones attacked energy facilities in the Odessa region
On the night of November 7, Russian drones struck energy facilities in the Odessa region, causing several fires.
According to the head of the Odessa OVA, Oleg Kiper, air defense forces destroyed most of the air targets, but some hit energy infrastructure facilities. Warehouses and administrative buildings were also damaged. All fires were quickly extinguished by rescuers, and there were no injuries.
The State Emergency Service reported that 3 units of equipment and 19 rescuers were involved in the elimination of the consequences, as well as 3 units of equipment and 10 people from local fire brigades.
This attack was another in a series of Russian strikes on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure in the fall of 2025.
President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the massive strikes indicate Moscow’s preparations for a possible blackout in Ukraine, but the government is ready for any scenarios — from local accidents to large-scale shelling this winter.
