President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that a trilateral meeting of Ukraine, the United States, and Russia will take place in the United Arab Emirates.
He said this at the World Economic Forum in Davos, quoted by RBC-Ukraine.
The meeting is expected to take place in the near future. According to Zelensky, it will last two days – January 23-24.
The President informed that the American team will leave for Moscow today.
“Now they will go and my team will meet the American team, and I think it will be the first three-way meeting in the Emirates, and I think it will be tomorrow and the day after tomorrow,” he said.
He hopes that the UAE is aware of the US plans, because sometimes the American side can arrange “surprises.” In any case, the president assured, the teams will go to the meeting.
“I think it would be good if this trilateral meeting would start at the technical level… The Russians should be ready for compromises, because you know, everyone should be ready, not just Ukraine, and this is important for us,” Zelenskyy noted.
As a reminder, US President Donald Trump, after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said that the negotiations went “very well.”
As noted, the war in Ukraine could end by the fall of 2026 if Ukrainian forces survive the winter and emerge in the spring with an advantage over the Russian occupiers.
