Five countries have volunteered to help Ukraine’s energy sector, including three states that will provide equipment and two more that will provide funds.
This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko.
According to her, cargoes with generators, transformers, cables, medical equipment, and other humanitarian aid from Azerbaijan, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic will arrive in Ukraine in the near future.
In addition, next week the Energy Fund of Ukraine will receive another 25 million euros from Ireland.
And the Netherlands announced additional aid of 23 million euros. The money will be used to finance gas purchases, urgent repairs to power plants, and the supply of critical energy equipment from Dutch companies, including generators and cables.
In total, the Netherlands’ contribution to supporting the Ukrainian energy sector in 2026 will amount to 133 million euros.
“We are grateful to all our partners for their continued support and assistance already provided: contributions to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine and backup energy equipment. Everything is aimed at restoring heat and light in the homes of our people and restoring energy facilities after extremely difficult enemy shelling,” the Prime Minister noted.
Recall that emergency power outages have been introduced in many regions of Ukraine due to Russian missile and drone strikes.
