Five emergency workers killed in Kharkiv during repeated Russian strikes

Emergency services workers were killed in Kharkiv while responding to the aftermath of a Russian strike on a civilian enterprise. According to updated data, the victims included 4 rescuers from the State Emergency Service and 1 civil defense specialist from the Kharkiv OVA, and at least 9 more people were injured.
This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.
According to the official, while extinguishing the fire after the Russian strike on Kharkiv, the enemy struck again. Emergency services workers were killed as a result of the attack.
“In Kharkiv, 5 rescuers of the State Emergency Service were killed while extinguishing a fire as a result of a repeated Russian strike. At least 5 more were injured,” said Ihor Klymenko.
Later, the minister clarified that among the dead were 4 rescuers from the State Emergency Service and 1 civil defense specialist from the Kharkiv Regional Emergency Management Agency.
Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Andriy Danyk reported that a second attack was carried out on a civilian enterprise in Kharkiv while rescuers were working at the scene.
“Another tragic night for Ukraine and our Service in particular: during the night, as a result of a repeated Russian strike on a civilian enterprise in Kharkiv, 4 rescuers were killed and 9 more were injured,” said Andriy Danyk.
According to the State Emergency Service, the deceased were soldiers of the 6th state fire and rescue unit of the city of Kharkiv:
- Dmytriy Boyko — department commander, chief master sergeant of the civil defense service;
- Danylo Tishchenko — firefighter and rescuer, sergeant of the civil defense service;
- Serhiy Makovetsky — firefighter and rescuer, sergeant of the civil defense service;
- Vadym Zinchenko is a driver, master sergeant of the civil defense service.
“They remained in the ranks until the last, performing their duty,” said Andriy Danyk.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs also noted that the massive Russian attack is ongoing, and all necessary services are involved in eliminating its consequences.
The day before, it became known that in the Kovpakiv district of Sumy, a Russian drone of the Molniya type hit a multi-story residential building . Three people were injured in the attack, including an 11-year-old girl.
It was previously reported that Russian troops attacked the Dnipro and several districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region at night with drones, artillery, missiles and aerial bombs . The shelling injured two people and damaged enterprises, educational institutions, residential buildings and infrastructure.
By the way, on the night of June 15, Russian troops launched a massive attack on Kyiv using ballistic missiles and drones. The shelling killed 4 people and injured at least 23 people, including a child.
