Flamingos have been tested: Zelensky confirmed the strike on the Progress space center in the Samara region of the Russian Federation

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have struck the Progress Space Rocket Center in Russia’s Samara Region and the Savasleyka military airfield in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Fires broke out on the territory of both facilities after the strikes, and the extent of the damage is being determined.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The General Staff noted that the Progress Space Rocket Center produces Soyuz launch vehicles. Russia uses them to launch military, reconnaissance, and communications satellites into orbit.
In particular, with the help of Soyuz-2.1b, the Russian Federation is deploying the Rassvet satellite constellation, a broadband satellite communication system that Russia positions as an analogue of Starlink. The company also produces Earth remote sensing spacecraft used for reconnaissance.
A fire broke out on the territory of “Progress” after the strike. The extent of the damage to the facility is currently being determined.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the strike on the enterprise was carried out by Flamingo missiles. According to him, the facility is located approximately 900 km from the Ukrainian border.
The Savasleyka airfield was also hit, where Russia deploys MiG-31K fighter-interceptors carrying Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles. Russian aircraft from this airfield carry out strikes on Ukraine.
A fire was also recorded at the airfield. The distance from Savasleyka to the Ukrainian border is about 700 km.
It was previously reported that the Progress Rocket and Space Center, which produces Soyuz-2 launch vehicles, could have been hit during the night attack on Samara, Russia. They are used to launch a significant portion of Russian military satellites, including the Rassvet devices, a potential Starlink analogue.
