Explosions erupted in Kirov, Russia, on the morning of July 24, after which the military enterprise “AVITEC” caught fire. According to monitoring resources, FP-5 “Flamingo” cruise missiles may have been used to strike the plant, which is located approximately 1,200 km from the Ukrainian border.
This is reported by the Telegram channel ASTRA and Exilenova+ .
Local residents reported a series of explosions on the morning of July 24. After analyzing eyewitness video recordings, ASTRA concluded that the Vyatka Machine-Building Enterprise “AVITEC” JSC was hit.
According to information from open Russian sources, the plant produces military, dual-purpose and civilian products. In particular, the company manufactures air defense systems, aviation components, ejection seats for pilots, load-lifting systems, winches and other aviation equipment.
The project of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, War & Sanctions, notes that “AVITEC” specializes in the production of surface-to-air anti-aircraft guided missiles, target missiles, and also participates in cooperation in the production of “Tor” anti-aircraft missile systems.
The company is under sanctions by Ukraine, the United States, and a number of other countries.
At the same time, the co-founder of the Ukrainian defense company Fire Point, Denis Shtilerman, hinted on the social network X that FP-5 “Flamingo” cruise missiles could have been used during the attack. There is currently no official confirmation of this information.
It was previously reported that on the night of July 24, drones also attacked St. Petersburg, Leningrad and Tver regions of the Russian Federation . After the explosions in the suburbs of St. Petersburg, a fire broke out at at least two Wildberries warehouses, and about 50 flights were delayed at Pulkovo Airport due to the attack.
