Advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Serhiy “Flash” Beskrestnov, stated that despite positive news from the front, the Defense Forces still face a number of serious technological challenges that require urgent solutions.

He announced this on his Facebook page.

According to Beskrestnov, one of the biggest problems remains the lack of a mass-produced solution to counter guided aerial bombs (GABs), which cause significant losses on the front lines.

He also noted the increasing use of MESH modems by Russian troops for reconnaissance and targeting of attack drones such as the Shahed and Gerbera. At the same time, he noted, Ukrainian development of electronic warfare systems to counter this technology is progressing too slowly.

Among other critical issues, the minister’s advisor cited drone attacks on frontline towns and villages, a shortage of tactical radar stations, the absence of domestic ballistic missiles, and the lack of serially produced electronic warfare systems to suppress drone video feeds.

Furthermore, Beskrestnov noted the need to create effective protection for attack drones from enemy anti-aircraft drones, develop a systematic approach to identifying and destroying the occupiers’ tactical radars, and develop alternative navigation systems for long-range strike assets.

He is convinced that the solution to these technological problems will influence the effectiveness of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and the further course of the war.
