On the night of October 22, Russian forces attacked the historic center of Kyiv with an Iskander ballistic missile with a K5 cluster warhead.
This was announced by Defense Technology Advisor Sergey Beskrestnov, known as “Flash.”
According to him, a cluster warhead explodes above the ground, scattering combat elements over a large area.
Beskrestnov explained that it contains 58 warheads that explode in the air. Such weapons are designed to destroy people and equipment in an area of approximately 400 by 400 meters.
The expert is convinced that the strike on the historic center of the capital had no military purpose. In his opinion, the Russian troops sought to cause maximum destruction and injure as many civilians as possible.
As a reminder, Russia launched three waves of ballistic strikes on Kyiv, launching a total of 21 missiles. Residential buildings, energy and civil infrastructure were damaged. Two people were killed and 34 others were injured in Kyiv and the regions of Ukraine, including two children.
