In Ukraine, the Unmanned Systems Forces for the first time destroyed a Shahed attack drone using an interceptor drone launched from a surface unmanned platform. This approach expands the capabilities of countering air threats and strengthens the defense system.
This was reported by the 412th Nemesis Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces.
The unit noted that the unmanned surface complex division is performing combat missions in the maritime operational zone.

According to the information provided, the aerial target was destroyed by an interceptor drone launched from a surface unmanned platform.
“This is a new level of integration of maritime and aerial unmanned capabilities,” the brigade noted.
The unit added that the use of surface carriers to launch interceptor drones creates an additional layer of protection and expands the ability to counter air targets.
The active implementation of such solutions is associated with the growing role of drones on the battlefield. According to available estimates, the ratio of strike drones on the front is approximately 1.3 to 1 in favor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
By the way, the Air Defense Forces neutralized 203 of the 236 drones with which the Russian invaders attacked Ukraine since the evening of April 18.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced his intention to expand the production of air defense systems in Ukraine . This involves the creation of a full range of air defense systems that should ensure the long-term protection of the state.
We should add that the Russian army has begun using Shahed kamikaze drones as carriers for FPV drones.
As a reminder, Russia is modernizing its drone tactics in the war against Ukraine. The Gerber UAV was first used as a carrier of an FPV drone.
