For the first time in months: Ukraine and Russia plan to exchange prisoners

During a trilateral meeting, delegations from Ukraine, the United States, and Russia agreed to exchange 314 prisoners.
This was announced by US special representative Steve Witkoff.
He stressed that the agreement was reached as a result of detailed and productive peace negotiations. According to him, such an exchange will be the first in several months.
“While much work remains, such steps demonstrate that sustained diplomatic engagement produces tangible results and advances efforts to end the war in Ukraine,” Witkoff noted.
Discussions will continue, and the American official believes there will be additional progress in the near future.
Earlier, Zelenskyy reported that Ukraine and Russia plan to exchange prisoners of war in the near future.
As a reminder, on January 29, 1,000 bodies of the dead were returned to Ukraine , which, according to the Russian side, belong to Ukrainian defenders.
