For the first time in the war, drones attacked Yekaterinburg.
In Yekaterinburg, a residential building was damaged this morning during air defense operations. The incident occurred amid attacks on the Russian rear.
The Governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Denis Pasler, reported this.
Around six in the morning, while repelling an air attack, Russian air defenses hit a high-rise building in the city center. A fire broke out, with thick black smoke billowing from the building.
According to preliminary reports, at least four apartments near the 25th floor were damaged. Debris from the building’s facade and the drone were scattered up to 200 meters away.
Due to the threat of attacks, several Russian regions imposed a “Carpet” regime, which restricted airport operations. Specifically, airfields in Yekaterinburg, Perm, Chelyabinsk, Krasnodar, and Samara were temporarily closed.
Local residents report that there was no air raid siren before the incident.
According to authorities, there are no fatalities. Six people sought medical attention, mostly with mild symptoms of smoke inhalation.
