During February 2026, Ukrainian troops managed to regain control of more territories than the enemy had occupied. This statistic was recorded for the first time since the Kursk operation.
This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky.
He emphasized that the Defense Forces are actively operating in the Hulyaipil and Oleksandriv directions, and are also restraining the enemy in the Pokrovsko-Myrnograd agglomeration.
“Contrary to repeated statements by the Russian leadership, we are only strengthening control over Kupyansk and reducing the “population” of enemy saboteurs in the city,” the Commander-in-Chief added.
According to his information, during the winter, Ukrainian fighters eliminated more occupiers than the enemy recruited into its army.
In particular, over three months, the aggressor’s losses exceeded 92,850 soldiers killed and wounded — more than 1,000 people daily.
In addition, the Russian army lost 322 tanks, 430 armored combat vehicles, almost 3,000 artillery systems, 110 MLRS, 55 air defense systems, 5 aircraft, a helicopter, more than 65,000 operational-tactical-level UAVs, one ship and one submarine, almost 12,000 units of automotive equipment, and 65 special equipment.
We remind you that the Defense Forces of Ukraine are effectively conducting search and strike and counter-strike operations , as well as stabilizing the situation in the southern sections of the front.
As is known, since the end of January 2026, Ukrainian units have regained control of 400 sq. km of territory and eight settlements in the South.
