In March 2026, for the first time since the start of a full-scale war, Ukraine overtook Russia in the number of drones used.

This is reported in an ABC News article.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, their air defenses allegedly shot down 7,347 Ukrainian drones over the course of the month—the highest figure Moscow has ever reported. This means that, on average, approximately 237 drones were launched into Russian territory per day. However, the Russian side does not disclose information about drones that were not shot down.

At the same time, the Ukrainian side reported that Russia used 6,462 drones and 138 missiles of various types against Ukraine in March. Of these, the Defense Forces neutralized or intercepted 5,833 drones and 102 missiles. This means that Ukraine was subjected to an average of approximately 208 drone attacks daily.

Journalists note that these statistics may indicate a gradual shift in the balance of power in Ukraine’s favor. In particular, this is attributed to Kyiv’s long-term efforts to develop its own drone and missile capabilities.

At the same time, it is noted that this data cannot be independently verified, and both sides may be exaggerating the effectiveness of their air defenses.

It was previously reported that drones attacked the Russian city of Novorossiysk in the Krasnodar region. The strike caused a fire at the Sheskharis oil terminal.

As a reminder, on the night of April 5 , Ukrainian Defense Forces struck several Russian aggressor targets, including an oil refinery, a port, and an aircraft depot. Fires were reported at some targets as a result of the attacks, and the extent of the damage is being determined.
