Russia seeks to cut off rail connections between Chernihiv and Sumy regions by blocking the main routes.
This was announced by the Chairman of the Board of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” Oleksandr Pertsovsky.
He stressed that the enemy continues to attack the logistics of frontline territories. In particular, in Sumy and Chernihiv regions, the Russians are trying to block not only the main routes, but also additional ones.
According to the official, people who were on their way to Sumy, Konotop, Shostka, and other cities in the region due to shelling will be transported by transfer. They are currently at a safe distance from the affected area.
“We are working with the Sumy and Chernihiv regional military administrations, the mayors of Konotop, Shostka, and Nizhyn to promptly organize transfers. Thank you for your promptness and involvement,” Pertsovsky added.
It was previously reported that due to Russian shelling, train traffic is being disrupted in the Nizhyn direction . Some flights are delayed, some have been temporarily canceled.
