Foreign military centers to be created in Ukraine: main statements on security guarantees based on the results of the Coalition of the Willing

Following the results of the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, which took place on January 6 in Paris, a number of world leaders made statements about security guarantees for Ukraine.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that his country will take responsibility for the security of Ukraine and the continent as a whole.
In turn, the British Prime Minister stated that Great Britain and France plan to establish military centers throughout Ukraine after the ceasefire.
According to the French president, Western partners have committed to providing support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which will remain on the front line of defense even after the ceasefire. The size of the Ukrainian army will be 700,000 soldiers.
He added that Turkey agreed to take responsibility for maritime security.
US President Donald Trump’s special representative, Steve Witkoff, announced new negotiations with the Ukrainian side on security guarantees. They will take place on January 7.
“We agree with the coalition that reliable security guarantees and firm commitments to prosperity are essential for lasting peace in Ukraine,” he said.
Instead, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that there are already necessary details regarding the deployment of forces, numbers, specific types of weapons, and components of the Armed Forces.
“We understand which country is ready for what – from all the countries of the Coalition of the Willing. I want to thank every leader, every state that really wants to be part of a peaceful solution,” the president wrote.
Zelensky noted that Ukraine and the United States discussed monitoring the ceasefire.
“One of the most important components is deterrence, tools that will prevent new Russian aggression,” he explained.
Earlier, the Ukrainian and French presidents and the British Prime Minister signed a declaration of intent regarding the future deployment of multinational forces in Ukraine.
As a reminder, officials from some European countries hope to deploy up to 30,000 peacekeepers in Ukraine as part of the deployment of a foreign contingent after the ceasefire.
As is known, the draft communiqué of the Coalition of the Willing meeting states that the United States will help ensure a ceasefire in Ukraine through intelligence and logistics.
