The SBU and the State Bureau of Investigation detained a former employee of Ukrzaliznytsia, who collaborated with the Russian Federation during the occupation of Kherson, guarding enemy military echelons.

This was reported by the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, law enforcement officers detained another accomplice of the Russian Federation who collaborated with the occupiers during the capture of Kherson.

He turned out to be a former employee of the paramilitary security unit of the regional branch of Ukrzaliznytsia.

It was established that the man was guarding Russian military trains that were transporting weapons, ammunition, and supplies for Russian troops on the front line.

After the liberation of Kherson, the man was left in the city, while his leadership fled to the left-bank part of the Kherson region.

To avoid justice, he hid in various rented apartments in the south of the country and constantly changed his place of residence.

It is known that the defendant was almost constantly in the apartment, going outside only in case of extreme necessity and did not contact anyone.

SBU officers still located his whereabouts and detained him at the end of May 2026.

Prior to this, he was notified in absentia of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).

The defendant is currently in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Previously, “Pryamiy” reported that the SBU detained a minor recruited Russian agent who was coordinating enemy strikes in the Kharkiv region.

The Security Service of Ukraine also detained a man suspected of assisting Russian special services in preparing a massive attack on the Dnieper on the night of June 2.
