Former head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine (GNS) Deineka has been granted bail of 10 million hryvnias.

Bail of 10 million hryvnias was posted for the former head of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Serhiy Deineka.
This was reported by Ukrainska Pravda with reference to the press service of the High Anti-Corruption Court.
Deineka’s bail was posted by another person on February 2. Meanwhile, bail was not posted for the second suspect in the case, the former head of the State Tax Service checkpoint.
Law enforcement officials previously announced the exposure of top officials of the State Border Service of Ukraine for systematically accepting bribes. The investigation established that in 2023, the defendants were involved in the illegal smuggling of cigarettes across the border.
According to law enforcement agencies, border guards ensured the unimpeded passage of vehicles from and to Ukraine, receiving 3,000 euros in bribes for each vehicle.
As part of the investigation, suspicions were announced:

General, former Chairman of the State Border Service of Ukraine;

to the head of the State Border Service checkpoint department;

former employee of the State Border Service.
As a reminder, NABU and SAP exposed a former top official and current employee of the State Border Service of Ukraine for systematically obtaining illegal benefits by facilitating unimpeded border crossings.
