Former head of the Patrol Police Department Yevhen Zhukov was appointed advisor to the Chairman of the National Police of Ukraine Ivan Vyhovsky .
This was announced by Interior Minister Igor Klimenko . According to him, Zhukov will be responsible for directing police involvement in the war.
Klimenko emphasized that he respects Zhukov as a combat officer, but he himself decided to leave his post after the incident with his subordinates.
According to the minister, the resignation was due to an error by two police officers while on duty, which negatively impacted trust in the entire law enforcement system.
As a reminder, Yevhen Zhukov, head of the Patrol Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine, resigned following the shooting in Kyiv . The decision stems from a scandal surrounding the actions of patrol officers who left the scene after the shooting.
