Four European countries urged citizens to refrain from traveling to Ukraine: reasons

The United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands updated their travel advisories for their citizens in late August, advising against travel to Ukraine due to the threat of Russian attacks.
The UK advises against travel to most regions of Ukraine. The British Foreign Office warns that Russian attacks on the energy system could cause emergency and planned power outages, which will also affect heating and water supplies.
Separately, the British side warns that in winter the temperature in Ukraine may drop below -20 °C.
“There is an ongoing risk of harm to UK citizens from Russian attacks across Ukraine, including from missiles and drones striking unintended targets, or from falling debris,” the statement said.
The UK also stresses that travel insurance may become invalid if a person travels to the region contrary to official recommendations. At the same time, the UK’s strictest recommendations do not apply to Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Lviv regions and Chernivtsi.
Italy also strongly advises its citizens not to travel to Ukraine due to missile attacks throughout the country. The Italian Embassy in Kyiv urges to refrain from any travel to Ukraine. Journalists and cameramen already in Ukraine are advised to exercise maximum caution and carefully assess the need for internal movements. Employers are advised to take measures to prevent and minimize risks.
Germany also updated its recommendations for its citizens ahead of Independence Day. Berlin warned of possible increased Russian air attacks and continues to advise against travel to Ukraine.
The Dutch Foreign Ministry noted that the entire territory of Ukraine has a red level of danger. The agency advises not to travel to Ukraine under any circumstances, and citizens who are already in the country – to leave it as soon as it is safe. The Netherlands also emphasized that their embassy will not be able to provide assistance in case of problems.
