Fourth year in a row: Svitolina reached the round of 16 at Roland Garros

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina reached the round of 16 at Roland Garros 2026, defeating Germany’s Tamara Korpach in the third round match. The Ukrainian won in straight sets and extended her winning streak on clay to 9 matches.

In the round of 16 match at Roland Garros, Elina Svitolina, ranked 7th in the WTA rankings, defeated Tamara Korpach from Germany, ranked 95th in the world rankings.
The match lasted 1 hour 31 minutes and ended with the Ukrainian winning 6:2, 6:3.
With this victory, Svitolina has advanced to the round of 16 of the French Open for the fourth year in a row. Overall, the Ukrainian tennis player will play in the fourth round of the tournament in Paris for the eighth time.
Svitolina also extended her winning streak on clay to 9 matches.
According to journalists, in 2026, the Ukrainian won 18 out of 19 matches against tennis players who are not in the top 50 of the WTA ranking.
Svitolina’s next opponent will be the winner of the match between Belinda Bencic of Switzerland and Peyton Stearns of the United States.
