FPV drones from Barracuda unmanned boats first hit Russian positions near Zalizny Port

Ukrainian marines conducted their first combat operation using FPV drones launched from unmanned naval boats. The strikes targeted Russian military positions in the Zalizny Port area in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region.

This was reported by the press service of the 40th Separate Marine Brigade on Facebook.

According to the military, while on a combat mission, the Barracuda unmanned boats came under fire from Russian forces. One of the BECs was lost after being attacked by four Lancet loitering munitions.

Despite this, the other boats successfully reached the designated launch area. After conducting additional reconnaissance, the operators launched FPV drones into the air, which struck at the enemy’s logistical routes, camouflaged positions, and manpower in the Iron Port area.

In particular, the brigade emphasized that this is the first confirmed case of combat use of FPV drones launched from unmanned naval boats.

It was previously reported that the Unmanned Systems Forces struck seven ships of the Russian “shadow fleet”, seven energy facilities in the temporarily occupied territories, six elements of the Russian air defense and two logistics facilities overnight . The results of the combat work were reported by the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovdi (“Magyar”).
