Fractured ribs and 18 days without communication: SBI checks CCC in Mykolaiv region
Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation initiated criminal proceedings after verifying information about possible violations of the rights of mobilized people in the Mykolaiv Regional CCC and SP.
This is reported by the State Bureau of Investigation.
The inspection was conducted jointly with representatives of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights. Investigators visited the regional collection point and spoke with people held there to find out about the conditions of their detention and possible violations of their rights.
During the inspection, law enforcement officers established that one of the mobilized men had not had contact with his family for 18 days.
It also turned out that the man was at the assembly point with fractured ribs. According to him, he received injuries from law enforcement officers during mobilization activities.
Based on these facts, the State Bureau of Investigation opened criminal proceedings under articles of abuse of official authority by a law enforcement officer and intentional infliction of moderate bodily harm.
Investigators are currently establishing all the circumstances of the incident and verifying information about possible violations. After completing the investigative actions, law enforcement officers will provide a legal assessment of the actions of all persons involved.
The procedural management of the case is carried out by the Mykolaiv Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Field of Defense of the Southern Region.
We remind you that employees of the State Bureau of Investigation opened criminal proceedings after media publications about possible violations of the rights of servicemen of the “Skelya” assault regiment.
