Fractured temporal bone: Mercedes driver beats cyclist for remark in Kyiv

In the Podilskyi district of Kyiv, a Mercedes driver hit a cyclist several times for remarking about stopping on a bike path. The 40-year-old Kyiv resident received serious injuries and is in hospital in serious condition.

The Kyiv police reported this on Facebook.

According to law enforcement, on Mezhyhirska Street, the driver of an SUV parked in a bicycle lane, blocking traffic. After a remark from a cyclist, he punched the man in the head, knocked him down, and when he lost consciousness, dragged him to the side of the road and fled.

“A 40-year-old Kyiv resident was injured in the attack and was hospitalized with a closed head injury and a fractured temporal bone. He is currently in serious condition in the hospital,” the police said.

Thanks to investigative measures, law enforcement officers established the direction of the car’s movement and detained the suspect. He turned out to be a 44-year-old businessman from the Kyiv region.

The man has already been charged under Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – intentional grievous bodily harm. He faces up to eight years in prison.

It was previously reported that the Kyiv region police reported suspicions to a 30-year-old resident of Vyshgorod , who during the conflict beat his friend and shot him with a traumatic pistol. Law enforcement officers detained the suspect, who faces up to eight years in prison.
