France allocated 71 million euros for Ukraine’s energy sector

France will provide Ukraine with grant financial assistance in the amount of 71 million euros. Part of the funds will be directed to the restoration of the energy sector.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

The agreements were reached during a meeting between Ukrainian Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal and French Economy and Energy Minister Roland Lescure.

The grant will be a tool for the restoration and modernization of critical infrastructure. In addition to financial support, the parties signed a strategic memorandum on cooperation in the field of nuclear energy.

Shmyhal stressed that the document lays the foundation for deepening the partnership and forms a framework for the restoration of the Ukrainian energy sector. He thanked the French side for its support.

According to him, Ukraine has already received more than 50 shipments of humanitarian energy aid, including more than 140 powerful generators. Additionally, France transferred 5.7 million euros to the Energy Support Fund.

Another 150 generators will arrive in Ukraine during February 2026.

As previously reported, on February 19, the Swedish government approved the 21st package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 12.9 billion kronor, which is about 1.2 billion euros.

As a reminder, Poland and Ukraine have agreed to launch joint production in the defense-industrial complex, including drones and other weapons.
