European leaders are drafting a security guarantee package for Ukraine that would include military contingents from several countries as part of a potential peace deal, bolstering Kyiv’s position ahead of a possible meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia.

This was reported by Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the negotiations.

According to media reports, about 10 countries have already expressed their willingness to send their troops to Ukraine, including the United Kingdom and France. The goal is to support the process of security guarantees after the cessation of hostilities, without going to the front lines.

London has confirmed that European military leaders will meet with their American counterparts in the coming days. The discussions will also include NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe and representatives of defense agencies from the Alliance’s member states.

The first phase is expected to include a training and reinforcement program for Ukrainian forces, with multinational military personnel. The UK and France are already training hundreds of soldiers for deployment in Ukraine.

In addition to the physical presence of the contingent, it also involves intelligence sharing, border monitoring, weapons supplies, and possible air defense assistance.

Brussels emphasizes that the US is unlikely to participate in the deployment of forces, but will continue to provide intelligence and technical assistance through partner channels.

The publication also notes that Donald Trump’s support for the plan is a key factor that paved the way for the implementation of this initiative.

As a reminder, France, Great Britain and a number of other European countries plan to send a limited military contingent to Ukraine. This involves the creation of a so-called “deterrence force” that will include several thousand foreign military personnel.

As reported, US President Donald Trump and European leaders have agreed to create a special working group to prepare a draft security guarantees for Ukraine. This intergovernmental format will be led by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
