France called for direct dialogue with Russia

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot stated that all financial aid to Ukraine currently comes from Europe, while Paris has never ruled out the possibility of dialogue with Russia.

He announced this in an interview with Liberation.

According to Barro, Europe needs a direct channel of communication with Moscow to defend its own interests.

“Europeans, who are currently Ukraine’s main financial and military sponsors, must be able to directly defend their interests without delegating this responsibility to anyone else,” the minister emphasized.

At the same time, the head of French diplomacy emphasized that Russia is not demonstrating a genuine willingness to make peace. To support this, he cited the recent shelling of civilians, including the attack on the Barvinkove-Lviv-Chop passenger train, which Barrot called a war crime.

The Minister also assured of the unwavering support of France and Europe for Ukraine.

Today, 100% of Ukraine’s financial aid comes from Europe. The bulk of its intelligence and military support also comes from Europe. Ukraine knows it can count on the full and consistent support of the Europeans,” he noted.
