President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to French politician Marine Le Pen’s statement about her intention to stop financial assistance to Ukraine. He emphasized that cooperation with Kyiv is also beneficial for France itself.
The head of state stated this in an interview with the Financial Times.
“France has something to lose,” Zelensky noted, commenting on Le Pen’s position.
According to him, the combat experience of the Ukrainian military is important for French defense companies, so cooperation is mutually beneficial.
The President also drew attention to the risks for Ukraine due to upcoming elections in European countries. He noted that pro-Russian parties could strengthen their positions over the next 12 months.
As a reminder, Marine Le Pen previously announced her intention to stop bilateral financial assistance to Ukraine if elected president of France, while allowing for the preservation of certain forms of military support.
