France prepares transfer of advanced air defense systems to Ukraine

France has announced its intention to transfer to Ukraine new-generation SAMP/T NG air defense systems, which, after deployment, should become the most powerful element in the air defense structure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was announced by the French Aid to Ukraine project on the social network X.
The report notes that the delivery of the systems is scheduled for 2026. The French side is not disclosing the exact number of complexes at this time. At the same time, it is emphasized that the SAMP/T NG will significantly strengthen the capabilities of the Ukrainian Air Force in countering air threats.
The system manufacturer, Thales, has previously confirmed the introduction of SAMP/T NG into service in France and Italy. The first serial deliveries of these systems to the national armies are also expected in 2026, which will allow synchronizing the transfer of new systems to Ukraine in the same period.
Recall, Ukraine will receive new SAMP-T air defense systems from France . The number was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky during a joint briefing with Emmanuel Macron.
