France to deliver additional Mirage fighters to Ukraine

Ukraine will receive 2 Mirage 2000 fighters from France as part of military assistance by the end of the first quarter of 2026 (by May 10). The aircraft are to supplement the 3 aircraft transferred earlier, one of which was lost.

According to journalist Romain Melcarec, the 2 aircraft will be delivered in addition to the 3 delivered last year. Thus, by the end of 2026, Ukraine will have 4 Mirage 2000 fighters at its disposal, since 1 aircraft was lost last summer.
The transfer of new aircraft will be accompanied by additional training for pilots and ground personnel who will provide their maintenance.
In the long term, the Ukrainian Air Force will have at least 6 French Mirage 2000s.
According to Melkarek, the maintenance costs of 3 fighter jets are 10 million euros per year.
Earlier, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced preparations for the transfer of the aircraft.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announcedagreements to supply Ukraine with 150 Gripen aircraft and 100 Rafale aircraft . According to him, these aircraft will be new and should strengthen the state’s aviation capabilities.
