From 200 hryvnias to tens of thousands: how much do Christmas trees cost in 2025

The Christmas tree sales season began in December — Ukrainians are massively buying evergreen trees, which are one of the symbols of the New Year.
As TSN reports , more and more Christmas tree fairs are appearing in Kyiv, however, prices are also rising.
Compared to last year, the cost of one tree has increased by 10%. Currently, prices at fairs vary from 1,700 hryvnias to 2,500 hryvnias. In some places in the capital’s markets, you can find a Christmas tree for even 6,000 hryvnias.
A more economical option for a New Year tree would be pine trees, the cost of one starts at 500 hryvnias.
You can buy fir trees and pine trees much cheaper from foresters. In particular, in the Zhytomyr region, a plantation of over 14 thousand units is being grown on an area of almost 2 hectares.
The prices for all coniferous trees are approximately the same – from 150 hryvnias to 1,000 hryvnias for a five-meter beauty.
Among other things, you can buy a Christmas tree in a pot, which comes in various sizes and price categories, the cost of some can reach 4,000 hryvnias.
An alternative to live plants is an artificial tree. They are more durable, stable, and do not require special care. The cheapest options cost 200-300 hryvnias, but this is not the limit, and prices can reach tens of thousands.
It was previously reported that the cost of a traditional Christmas table in 2025 has practically not increased and is UAH 1,374 at average prices in Ukrainian supermarkets.
