Head of the SAPO Oleksandr Klymenko believes that former head of the OP Andriy Yermak can use the “Advokat+” program to improve his reputation.

Klymenko said this in an interview with the YouTube channel “There is a Question”.

The reason for the statement was the situation with the preventive measure for Yermak. On August 10, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court allowed him to travel outside Kyiv to several regions. The former head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office explained the need for such trips by his participation in the work of “Advokat+”.

Before the court hearing, the SAPO and NABU received 12 letters from military unit commanders in support of the former head of the OP.

“This is a reputation-whitening tool, in my opinion,” said Klymenko.

According to him, the letters from the military were very similar to each other and arrived at the anti-corruption agencies gradually – three or four per day. The SAPO assumed that they were prepared specifically to achieve a mitigation of Yermak’s preventive measure.

Klymenko also spoke with irony about the idea of creating a conditional project “Prosecutor+”. According to him, it could help servicemen who are pressured to participate in “Advokat+” or take photos with Yermak to report this to law enforcement anonymously.

At the same time, the head of the SAPO noted that law enforcement officers did not verify the veracity of the information contained in the military letters, since this is not the subject of the investigation.

In his opinion, the court could invite the commanders of military units to explain what benefits Yermak’s trips provide to the military and why he is participating in the program, and not other lawyers.

“How many photos of other lawyers have you seen fasting? Only one person is fasting,” Klymenko said.

What is known about “Advokat+”

Yermak left the post of head of the OP in late November 2025 after searches by the NABU and SAPO. In March, he headed the committee of the National Bar Association, which deals with issues of protection of victims of Russian aggression, compensation, and legal support for the restoration of Ukraine.

In April, the launch of the “Advokat+” program was announced, which provides legal assistance to military personnel.

In early May, Yermak was suspected of money laundering in a case involving the construction of luxury estates in Kozyn. The case is part of the Midas investigation into corruption in the energy sector.

In particular, on August 14, the National Guard Corps “Charter” joined “Advokat+”. This caused a negative reaction on social networks, after which the unit’s leadership commented on the situation.
