From comfortable warmth to icy nights: what will the weather be like in March?

The weather in Ukraine will be mostly calm and comfortable in March 2026. The air temperature will be slightly above normal, but in the middle of the month, frosts of up to -13°C are expected in some places.

This was reported by weather forecaster Ihor Kibalchych in a comment to “Telegraph”.

At the beginning of the month it will be warm, the snow is gradually melting, rain, sleet and fog are possible. From March 9 to 13, a cold snap is expected, especially in the north and east of the country. At night, the temperature will drop to -10…-13°C in some places, and during the day around 0°C. For example, in Kharkiv on March 10, -13°C is forecast.

After March 19, gradual warming will begin, especially in the west and south. Along with the warming, precipitation in the form of rain and sleet will increase.

In general, March will be close to the climatic norm. The average temperature in Ukraine is usually from 0 to +8°C, depending on the region: in the north and center about 0°C, in the south and in the Carpathians it is slightly warmer. Local floods due to melting snow and ice crust are possible, but natural disasters are not expected.
