The Ukrainian government has instructed to ensure the redirection of the released energy resource for the needs of the population. The decision must be implemented by December 24 and is aimed at stabilizing the power system and reducing the number of outages.

This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

According to her, the Government has set a task for all involved structures to ensure the unconditional implementation of the decision to redirect the released energy resource in the amount of up to 1 GW.

The specified resource was obtained as a result of a review of the list of critical infrastructure facilities. It is planned to use it exclusively to meet the needs of the population.

“Today, the Government has set a task for all involved, without exception, to ensure the unconditional implementation of the decision to redirect the released energy resource for the needs of the population by December 24,” Svyrydenko said.

According to her, this step is one of the measures that should help balance the power system and reduce the number of power outages for citizens.

“This is one of the steps that will help balance the power system and reduce the number of outages for people,” the official added.

The Head of Government also noted that work is continuing in other areas, including increasing electricity imports, restoring generation damaged by attacks, and increasing individual generation.

“We are also working in other areas, including increasing imports of electricity, restoring generation damaged by enemy attacks, and increasing individual generation,” Svyridenko said.

Recall that on the night of December 19, Russia launched strikes on electricity generation, distribution, and transmission facilities in 6 regions of Ukraine . The attacks resulted in extensive damage and the implementation of power outage schedules.

It was previously reported that, amid Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy, the German government announced the allocation of additional funds to protect infrastructure.
