The head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, revealed that agents returning from missions behind enemy lines can undergo appearance changes with the help of top plastic surgeons. The SBU also provides them with cover identities, secure housing, and comprehensive support to ensure their safety.

He said this in an interview with the TV channel “We-Ukraine”.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has developed a comprehensive protection system for its agents and secret operatives who, after completing special operations, face the threat of persecution by the enemy.

According to SBU Chief Vasyl Malyuk, one of the key elements of this program is the ability to radically change the appearance of agents. This is done with the consent of the individuals themselves and involves leading world-class plastic surgeons.

“There are top plastic surgeons with world-renowned reputations who provide their expertise. Then, cover documents are prepared, and these people begin life anew—essentially from scratch—if it is clear that the enemy is watching and intends to ‘catch up’ with them,” Malyuk explained.

He emphasized that this practice has been used repeatedly within the SBU. It is part of a broader set of security measures, which include both technical and operational methods, as well as support in everyday life.

In addition to changing their appearance and obtaining new documents, the SBU assists agents with integrating into their new environment and provides material support. In particular, the service seeks to provide housing so that agents can start life safely without the risk of exposure.

Thus, Ukrainian special services strive to provide maximum protection for those carrying out the most dangerous missions behind enemy lines, ensuring they can return to a normal life, even if this requires changing not only their residence but also their appearance.

Earlier, Vasyl Malyuk also revealed new details about the preparation of the unique special operation “Web,” which combined intelligence work, complex logistics, and advanced technology. The operation involved delivering 150 combat FPV drones to the enemy’s rear, establishing a legendary company in Russia, and implementing technical solutions capable of operating even at –40°C.
