FSB agent convicted in Khmelnytskyi region for preparing air defense strikes

An FSB agent, who was detained in the Khmelnytskyi region in December 2024, received 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

As the investigation established, the attacker was preparing coordinates for a series of Russian missile and drone attacks on the western region of Ukraine.

Its main “targets” were radar stations and anti-aircraft missile systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which defend Ukrainian skies.

According to the case materials, the enemy’s task was carried out by a mobilized soldier who voluntarily left the military unit and began working for the FSB.

The deserter came to the attention of Russian special services when, after escaping from the unit, he began looking for “easy money” in Telegram channels.

In exchange for the promise of “quick money,” the traitor drove around the area in his own car to identify military installations.

After identifying such locations, he conducted additional reconnaissance, marked the corresponding locations on Google Maps, and “reported” to the FSB curator.

At the same time, the agent tried to burn a military vehicle and was then detained by SBU officers.

During the searches, a flammable mixture and a smartphone with evidence of his work for the Russian special services were seized from him.

Based on the materials of the Security Service, the court found the agent guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).

As a reminder, the Security Service of Ukraine announced the prevention of a terrorist attack in the center of Kropyvnytskyi. According to the investigation, an agent of the Russian special services was preparing an assassination attempt on one of the civil servants.

As reported, the Security Service detained another agent in the Kyiv region who worked for Russian military intelligence. The attacker was preparing new rocket attacks by the occupiers on thermal power plants in the capital region of Ukraine.
