Russia has imposed a complete ban on the export of diesel fuel and plans to begin importing petroleum products from July.

This was reported by TASS, citing a statement by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

According to him, demand for fuel in Russia has increased by almost a third, which has led to additional strain on gas stations.

Novak noted that the fuel supply situation has begun to stabilize, but remains tense.

According to him, the Russian authorities are taking a number of measures to improve the situation. In particular, some repairs to oil refineries have been postponed and additional production capacity has been attracted.

In addition, the current priority is to supply fuel to regions where independent gas stations mainly operate.

Separately, Russian Transport Minister Andrei Nikitin said the agency is doing “everything possible” to deliver fuel to temporarily occupied Crimea. According to him, fuel tankers are being allowed through checkpoints through the “green corridor” to normalize supplies.

Nikitin also acknowledged the reduction in aviation fuel supplies for Russian civil aviation, but called the situation “controlled.”

It was previously reported that on the night of July 8, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of strategic facilities on Russian territory , including two oil refineries, six shadow fleet tankers, a military airfield, and transport bridges.

Also, afterthe attack by Ukrainian drones, the Omsk Oil Refinery stopped operating .
