Funds for reconstruction and investment: EU provides Ukraine with €2.3 billion in aid

The EU announced the signing of agreements for Ukraine for 2.3 billion euros in the form of loan guarantees and grants.
This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
“This is expected to attract up to 10 billion euros in investment in recovery. We are grateful to all EU partners for their unwavering support,” the Prime Minister noted.
It is known that the European Commission has approved a new aid package for Ukraine of 1.8 billion euros in the form of loan guarantees and 580 million in grants.
The money will go to:
- €500 million will be allocated to support small and medium-sized businesses, including startups, veteran initiatives, and businesses working with IDPs;
- 600 million euros will be allocated for large projects in energy, transport and manufacturing;
- 520 million euros will be allocated to the reconstruction of municipal infrastructure in the affected regions;
- 265 million euros will go to stabilize the energy system, develop green energy, and energy efficiency;
- 310 million euros will be spent on repairing critical infrastructure: housing, hospitals, and medical facilities.
Recall that the Fund for the Reconstruction of Ukraine was launched with an initial capital of 220 million euros . The initiative aims to stimulate private investment in critical sectors: energy, infrastructure, industry.
By the way, Ukraine received 1 billion euros from the European Union from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets .
