Former Energy Minister German Galushchenko stated during a court hearing that part of the funds for his son’s education in Switzerland was paid by the child’s godfather.
He stated this in the courtroom.
According to Galushchenko, some funds also came from companies as profits from joint ventures. When asked about the possible size of the payments, specifically $200,000 per year, he confirmed that the godfather made contributions but declined to comment on specific amounts.
At the same time, the former minister stated that he does not intend to reveal the identity of his son’s godfather.
“I won’t say anything; it’s not helpful. I have a lot of godparents, I have a lot of children. They’re all rich,” Galushchenko said in court.
It was previously reported that on the night of February 15, NABU and SAP detained former Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko while attempting to cross the border.
Subsequently, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau confirmed the detention of former Energy Minister German Galushchenko while attempting to travel abroad.
