Gasoline is disappearing from gas stations: the fuel crisis has already reached 15 regions of Russia
Fuel shortages continue to spread in Russia. Problems with gasoline and restrictions on its sale have already been recorded in at least 15 regions of the country, as well as in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
This is reported by TMT.
According to the publication, residents of Ryazan were among the first to complain about the shortage of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline in late May. This happened after Ukrainian drone attacks on Rosneft’s Ryazan oil refinery, which is one of the largest in the country.
Reports of fuel problems began to emerge from occupied Crimea. Later, restrictions on the sale of gasoline and difficulties with its purchase were also recorded in the occupied parts of Zaporizhia, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions.
In early June, fuel problems reached Moscow and St. Petersburg. Restrictions on the sale of gasoline appeared at some gas stations, and later similar reports began to come from the Moscow region.
In addition, fuel shortages have arisen in the Kursk, Belgorod, and Pskov regions. Some gas stations of the Rosneft and Tatneft networks have introduced limits on the sale of gasoline.
Other regions have also been affected. Residents of Novgorod Oblast report restrictions on fuel consumption of up to 20 liters per person. Similar measures are in place at some gas stations in Karelia and Murmansk Oblast.
Fuel shortages are also being recorded in the Voronezh region, Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk region, and even in the Koryaksky district of Kamchatka.
Despite the increasing number of reports of gasoline shortages, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that the situation in the Russian fuel market remains stable.
As previously reported, Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries in May were the most extensive since the start of the full-scale war. Against this backdrop, Russia banned the export of aviation fuel, fearing a shortage on the domestic market.
Recall that since mid-May, the United States of America has reinstated sanctions against Russian oil , which coincided with large-scale attacks by Ukrainian drones on the enemy’s energy infrastructure.
