Gasoline will become even less: a train carrying fuel derailed in the Smolensk region of the Russian Federation

In the Smolensk region of Russia, 18 cars carrying gasoline derailed after a freight train collided with a truck. The accident caused a large-scale fire and injured two members of the locomotive crew.

This was reported by Moscow Railways and the Russian Ministry of Emergencies.

The incident occurred on the morning of September 26 at 7:26 a.m. between the Rudnya and Golinky stations, near the border with Belarus. According to preliminary information, the truck driver drove onto a railway crossing in front of the approaching train. The driver applied emergency braking, but the collision could not be avoided.

The impact derailed the locomotive and 18 cars loaded with gasoline, causing the cargo to catch fire. According to official data, the driver and his assistant were injured – both were hospitalized with moderate injuries.

Three fire engines and four recovery trucks were sent to the scene to eliminate the consequences of the accident. Traffic on this section of the railway has been completely suspended. The causes and circumstances of the accident are being investigated.

By the way, on the night of Friday, September 26, a fire broke out at the Afipsky oil refinery in Russia , located in the Krasnodar Territory. It is previously known that the incident occurred after another drone attack.

As a reminder, on the night of September 25, a series of powerful explosions were heard in the Belorichensky district of the Krasnodar region of Russia . According to local residents, at least six strikes occurred after 02:30.

As reported, a special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine called “Ghosts” carried out another successful operation in the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea.
