General Staff on the situation at the front: 179 battles in a day, the hottest in the Pokrov direction

On Tuesday, September 23, the 1,308th day of the full-scale war began. Over the past day, 179 combat clashes took place, the occupiers carried out almost 5,000 shellings, dropped 136 aerial bombs and over 6,200 kamikaze drones. The Defense Forces’ aviation struck enemy control points, equipment and warehouses, also destroying two aircraft, one helicopter and 485 drones.

The morning briefing of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine provides more details about the situation on the front. According to the military, the most intense fighting continues in the Pokrovsk and Novopavlovsk directions – the invaders are attacking in waves, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine are confidently holding their defense.

Situation by direction

North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions: 11 combat engagements, 9 airstrikes (25 CABs) and 192 shellings, 10 of them from MLRS.

South Slobozhansky: The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 12 attacks near Vovchansk, Vovchanskiye Khutor, Krasny Pershy, Zapadny, Odradny, and Kutkivka.

Kupyansk: 4 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in the areas of Kupyansk, Kindrashivka and Pishchane.

Lymansky: 20 attacks – the occupiers stormed Olhivka, Novoyehorivka, Hrekivka, Seredne, Kolodyazi, Stavky, Shandryholove, Novomykhailivka, Derylove, Torske, Zarichne and moved towards Stepovoye.

Siversky: 7 attacks near Serebryanka and Viymka.

Kramatorsk: 7 clashes in the Maiske area and in the direction of Stupochok.

Toretsky: 17 attacks in the areas of Pleshchiivka, Berestok, Katerynivka, Kleban-Byk, Rusyny Yar, Shcherbynivka, Poltavka and in the direction of Stepanivka.

Pokrovsky: 58 clashes – hot in the areas of Nykanorivka, Zolotye Kolodyaz, Rodynske, Krasny Liman, Novoekonomichny, Myrolyubivka, Promen, Vilny, Myrnograd, Zvirovye, Kotlyny, Udachny, Molodetsky, Dachny.

Novopavlivskyi: 31 assault attempts in the areas of Filiya, Sichneve, Shevchenko, Sosnivka, Novoivanivka, Ternovo, Myrny, Berezovo, Novohryhorivka, Novomykolaivka and in the direction of Ivanivka.

Hulyaipilsky: the enemy attacked three times near Poltavka.

Orikhivskyi and Prydniprovskyi: the enemy did not conduct offensive operations.

Volyn and Polissya: no signs of enemy preparation for an offensive were recorded.

In total, during the day, the Defense Forces hit two command posts, six areas of accumulation of equipment, a BC warehouse, an artillery installation and two other important targets. In addition to 1,010 destroyed occupiers, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated 5 tanks, 53 artillery systems, 2 MLRS, 2 aircraft, 1 helicopter, 485 drones and 123 pieces of equipment .

Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, reported that since the beginning of 2025, the Defense Forces of Ukraine have destroyed more than 267 thousand Russian occupiers .
